Chagall acquires our attention, and raises consciousness of the occasion to something very vivid & sustained. But he's an extremely immature performer, kept that way by his studio because that defines their product; and in his case, this is a shame. He should have been partnered with a guy in his 30s, say, past the stage of giggling, who could elicit a real sense in him of what it means to be involved with him.
