These considered diptychs yielded some very compelling contrastes. Surely the hopelessly endearing Diogo Nicoletti could not be more pleased, than to be juxtaposed with the exuberant penis dancer at the outdoor penis fair. But there was stimulating concentration throughout, showing also great depth and diversity of resources, in famous scans as well as in contemporary works. A fine and daring personal gesture, this blog entry, as they should be.
